Taking our show into the state of the art, brand new Mildura Arts Centre Theatre on the 15th March was super exciting. The Friday was a big day of tech rehearsal and fine tuning for the dancers, everyone put in a huge effort. Then Speak Percussion arrived on Saturday morning for the final Dress/Tech – the only chance the dancers got to work with the live music prior to the show. Everyone worked extremely hard on Saturday morning and the music and dance came together superbly, as did the final touched of the AV and set flys.
The 400 seat theatre was almost half full for the premiere Conflux performance which went off without a hitch. Sally’s dancers put in 110% and gave the best performance of the project so far in terms of energy and poise. The multimedia elements combined seamlessly with the live performances to create an overall experience that went for almost an hour but left the audience wishing there was more! The feedback was fantastic but perhaps the ,most rewarding part was seeing the dancer leap in the air and high five each other as soon as the final curtain came down. We all had such a great time bringing this show together and now we are looking forward to working on taking some of it to Canberra in August. See attached for a cast photo with all the dancers with Sally & myself backstage just before the show.
