Energy
A slump in creative energy this week was not what I had hoped for as our project started to gain momentum. Questions, re-thinking, differing ideas were all muddling my head.
Until last night.
Returning a missed call, the lady on the other end of the line said; “Is it true you’re doing a project Treasures of the River?” I replied that I was and that I was collecting images and stories about the local river. Her response was unexpected and made my heart sing; “Oh wonderful! I have over 45 years of photographs of the Warrego River! Would you be interested?”
Would I?
Living over 100km out of the main part of Augathella my caller was painting a different picture of the Warrego I see everyday – flowing water with a current that can be strong and swift, fauna that seasonally transforms the riverbank into a splash of red and a river that can be heartbreaking and destructive.
This week I have a new Warrego.
A new energy.
