The One River project offers an opportunity for everyone living in the Murray-Darling Basin, including Canberra residents, to celebrate the Centenary of Canberra.
We are asking you all to take a photo of your favourite part of the river at your favourite time of day and upload it to this site, using the ‘Upload’ tab above, sometime during the birthday year 2013.
When you go to upload your photo or photos, you will be prompted to tell us why this part of the river is so special to you.
At the end of the 2013 year, we will have awonderful collection of photos and stories representing how people living in the Murray-Darling Basin feel about their part of the river. This will be archived by the National Library of Australia.
We are interested in the human side of the story, so try and think beyond just landscapes, (although of course they are beautiful). Try to capture what it is people enjoy about the river – walking the dog, teaching their kids to swim, being an ‘ice-berger’ (for the southern states!), skiing and all sorts of other water sports, fishing, sailing, houseboating, canoeing, fishing, camping or just sitting and thinking.

You may need to resize your photo to make it easy to upload and you will need to accept the Terms and Conditions of the My River Today Photo Project.
