PS MELBOURNE CELEBRATES ITS 100TH BIRTHDAY

The PS Melbourne celebrated its 100th anniversary on September 9th 2012. A small armada of paddle steamers and other boats assembled at Mildura (where the PS Melbourne is moored) to help celebrate this occasion. Paddle Steamers that attended the celebrations were PS Marion, PS Industry, PS Oscar W (all from South Australia), and PS Adelaide from Echuca. Unfortunately the sister boat to PS Marion – PS Ruby which is moored at Wentworth was unable to attend owing to mechanical problems. The “Grand Sail Past” was a magnificent event with an estimated crowd of 25,000 lining the river bank.
